Strada

THE CASTLE AND THE CHURCH OF SAN MARTINO IN VADO

The ancient castle and village of San Niccolò is located on a hill overlooking the valley of the Solano torrent. It falls within the Casentino district to the east of Florence. Strada is known as the city of “the Worked Stone”, due to the processing of the Serena Stone, typical of Casentino Valley.

This tradition continues today thanks to the Biennial Worked Stone Fair, that attract national and international important sculptors.
